The Student Leadership Council at W.P. Sandin, along with several community members, planned a fundraising event on April 15 in honour of the Humboldt Broncos. The community of Shellbrook and surrounding area came out in huge numbers that day to support the event which included an 18-team street hockey tournament with participants ranging in ages from 4 – 60, a BBQ, raffle table, bouncy castle, and a minute of silence. After a successful afternoon we were able to send $15,400 to STARS Air Ambulance in memory of those lost in the tragedy.
