15 grade 5-8 students at Princess Margaret Public School along with Mrs. Kidd, have had the opportunity to be part of the Canadian Quilters Association’s “Big Quilting Bee”.
The celebrate Canada 150 project CQA set a goal to have 1000 quilts made and donated to kids at the 14 Ronald McDonald houses across Canada. The 10 quilts made by these students will be donated to The Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon.
Many thanks to The Dream Broker Program for the grant money to purchase supplies, and to Vincent Massey Public School for the loan of the sewing machines. These students have learned so much from doing this project and are already asking if it can be continued next year.
