Purpose:
To examine what daily explicit instruction in Independent Reading looks like and how to monitor student progress through student conferences and reading records.
Learning Intentions: Teachers will go away knowing what explicit instruction looks in Independent Reading and how to organize classroom libraries and student book boxes. Teachers will learn how to effectively monitor student reading progress by using student conferencing and running records. Teachers will look at how to assess the Assess and Reflect outcomes during a reading conference.
Success Criteria: Participants will know how to explicitly teach Independent Reading and monitor student progress using an effective student conference. |
