Purpose:
Are you a new EA looking to learn more about the role, enhance your skills and make a meaningful impact with students? Join us for an informative workshop designed specifically for you. The workshop aims to equip you with the knowledge, tools and strategies needed in your role in order to support students effectively.
Learning Intentions: · What is the role of an EA – The EA Handbook · What is Inclusion? The 5Ps of Inclusion · Understanding Trauma – What are the various forms of trauma, its prevalence, and its potential impact on students’ cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. · Building a toolkit: Regulation and sensory strategies; how to minimize triggers and maintain a safe and predictable environment
Success Criteria: EAs will feel more confident in their role and will have more strategies to recognize and respond to the unique needs of the students they will work with. Optional: Learner Presurvey NA
