Our staff at JDPS have discovered a variety of ways to connect with our Stinger community. Teachers have found many platforms to assist them in engaging students for supplemental learning. Most have continued to communicate through Seesaw and some have discovered new ways to captivate our students. Our Grade 1 teacher, Melissa Melnyk, has been using an online Newsletter (smore.com) to communicate with her students and to engage them with fun activities. Jen Michell-Kohut our P.E. teacher has been using social media (Facebook and Instagram) for daily fitness challenges and fun ways to keep active. Scott Roos has created a website and Facebook page and called it Mr. Roo’s Music Class. You will find him there playing a ukulele and singing fun songs and also interviewing various Canadian artists. Finally, our staff put together a parade for the community to show how much we miss our students.
