May 5th is Red Dress Day and the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). The Red Dress project was created by Metis artist Jamie Black in 2010.
During a recent Culture Camp at Riverside Public School, students were involved in creating a variety of Red Dresses to be incorporated in our school-wide Red Dress display. Students also had the opportunity to make their own MMIWG mask.
Let us never forget the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
