Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division celebrates Family Literacy Week January 24 – 30, 2021. Minister of Education, Dustin Duncan, proclaimed January 27, 2021, as Family Literacy Day with this year’s theme being Travel the World Together.
In our commitment to student achievement, we believe that Literacy is the focus that connects all our good work together. Literacy begins with the fundamental acquisition of skills in reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing, representing, and mathematics. It becomes the ability of all students to think, apply, and communicate effectively in all subject and program areas in a variety of ways and for a variety of purposes.
SRPSD is pleased to join the Government of Saskatchewan and our local partners in celebrating Family Literacy Week. Through literacy, one can “travel the world” so take a minute and celebrate January 27, 2021, by reading to a child. Happy Literacy Week!
