The spirit of local social justice is alive and well in SRPSD schools. A recent strong example is when Telus on behalf of Wesmor Public High School made a donation of $1000 to the Salvation Army in Prince Albert. This donation is available because of Wesmor students participation in Telus Give Where You Live Program. Students at our school have been working on student-led community projects to support our community and their own development as leaders. In recognition of our students taking action in our community, Telus made a donation to a charity of our choice. The students chose the Salvation Army because of their work in supporting our community, as well as in recognition of the work they do in times of crisis – such as the forest fires during the summer of 2015.
Proud student leaders Keegan Ratt and Riley Waditaka present the cheque to the Salvation Army on behalf of Wesmor.
